Nestled in the heart of Düsseldorf at Ackerstraße 119, Okra offers an authentic taste of Ethiopia, pairing the rich flavors of traditional cuisine with a cozy ambiance. This Ethiopian restaurant invites you to embark on a culinary journey where every dish tells a story and every bite resonates with culture.
As I walked into Okra, the inviting atmosphere, complete with soothing Ethiopian music, immediately draws you in. But it's the food that truly steals the show. The extensive menu features a delightful array of dishes, from savory meat and vegetable platters to the beloved Injera, a staple in Ethiopian dining. The veggie/meat tasting platter is particularly noteworthy; diners rave about the combination of flavors and the freshness of the ingredients. Many customers have described their experiences here as nothing short of transformative, making them feel as though they've truly traveled to Ethiopia.
While the food is undoubtedly a highlight, service has received mixed reviews. Guests have reported longer than expected wait times, with dishes sometimes taking 45 minutes or more to arrive. However, others have praised the attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure satisfaction, even providing extra Injera at no cost. This commitment to hospitality helps mitigate the wait, allowing the diners to focus on savoring the remarkable flavors.
If you are in the mood for a memorable dining experience, Okra is highly recommended. The richness of their dishes, coupled with the warm atmosphere, makes for an enjoyable outing, whether you're a newcomer to Ethiopian cuisine or a seasoned connoisseur. Don't miss the chance to indulge in one of Düsseldorf's hidden gems!

Great Ethiopian bear, authentic and delicious Ethiopian food! Cozy bience with Ethiopian misic. Feel like I'm Ethiopian! However, waited for more than one hour to get the food. If the service is faster, will give it a five star!

It was an amazing experience here. The food was extremely good. So tasty and the service was very good. They served us extra Injera for no additional cost. Waiting time was little too much. We were three people and it took 45 mins to make the food. I strongly recommend this place for nice Ethiopian Injeras

I'm in Dusseldorf visiting a friend and we decided to get the veggie/meat tasting platter for takeaway. I have never had Ethiopian food in my life. This is one of the best food experiences I have ever had. I was pleasantly surprised and will be recommending to my friends.

We came here with an Ethiopian friend. He told us that the food is authentic. We were a group and ordered mix platter with everything. Nothing but five star from service to taste of the food. It was absolutely delicious

Great Ethiopian themed restaurant with cozy atmosphere, you may find lighting a bit dimmer but you get used to in few minutes. Very concise menu focused on injeera specialties which was great. Fresh and delicious. Service was pretty good. When we visited tedj was unavailable so couldn’t try. There was just one server and she seemed quite busy and didn’t wanted to spend more time listening and talking, but overall good. It’s a small place so get full soon, no outside seating and clean toilets available.
